Stazko Associates

Build your grooming education library with all of John’s programs, available on video & DVD. Each program addressed many aspects of grooming or the business of grooming. A wonderful reference collection for years to come.

Part I – The Business Of Grooming. (100 minutes) Professional grooming is hard work and many owners and employees do not receive the financial compensation they deserve. This program focuses on a simple and effective pricing formula to increase profits for all. It also covers a "unit-booking concept” that results in controllable workloads and maximum income. Other subjects include: predicting business growth and profits, avoiding pitfalls before the next growth level and dealing with employee pay. Part II – Minutes Cost Money! Cut Grooming Time And Make More Money. (60 minutes) There are many aspects of professional grooming far beyond a haircut or bath. Policies, grooming procedures, equipment use, etc. can either cause-wasted time resulting in lost money or saved time, making more money. This program deals with many areas that when executed efficiently results in less pressure, organized workdays, maximum income and more energy after work to enjoy personal interests. Breed grooming time reference included. Part III – Topknots In Minutes. Panda/Teddy Bear Heads, Well-Shaped Fast. (40 minutes) Although quality work encompasses the total grooming, the first thing an owner sees is the head. Sometimes heads take excessive time to get “just right” especially if the pet’s body coat has been stripped short. This program is a step-by-step scissor placement procedure that shows how much to cut and where to go next. It replaces “The whittle down concept.” The result is FASTER, accurate and proportioned shapes. Video Slide Presentation. Part IV – Be An Educated Consumer (Spend your money wisely) (80 minutes) Our industry has many wonderful tools and equipment that make our work more efficient and enjoyable. Sometimes a purchase can disappoint us. Many times it is because the application did not fit the item. This program covers: understanding Shears and what is right for you. Grooming Equipment purchases based on application needs of Force Dryers, Shampoo Systems, Vac Systems and Tables. Features to look for and questions to ask for performance and satisfaction. Part V – Accidents Can And Do Happen. (60 minutes) Professional grooming can be dangerous to both pets and the professional groomer. This program addresses over 60 areas in a salon that are “accidents waiting to happen" and how to avoid problems. If a person overlooks even one of these areas at the wrong time, that may be the one that causes a fatality. Accident checklist included. Part VI – Giant Snap On Combs and More. Video Slide Presentation (60 minutes). This program covers how these plastic “jewels” can make a major difference in cutting time while maintaining scissor quality finishes, create consistent haircuts month after month and quick and easy fault correcting. When combined with vac grooming even more benefits are experienced. The last part of the program deals with the question: “Is your focus to groom until you retire?” Better yet, will you be physically able? It covers using your grooming experience as a door opener to other opportunities in the pet industry. You may not have to rely on grooming income alone in the “later years.”
